Razer Orbweaver mechanical gamepad might give you an unfair advantage in games

Jan 18, 2013 by Administrator

The Orbweaver is a mechanical gamepad that puts all of your left-hand controls in one package.  Essentially, this replaces your keyboard, and is designed to fit comfortably in your hand. The big selling points on this are the mechanical keys, and that you can adjust the hand, thumb, and palm rest to fit your hand like a glove. The 20 keys are backlit, and can be programmed into an infinite number of combinations for your preference. There is an 8-way directional thumb-pad, you can have as many profiles as you’d like, and is has Synapse 2.0 software. The big downer is that this thing costs $130. While mechanical switches may give you a faster response time, it’s a completely useless aspect unless you’re a pro-gamer where every fraction of a fraction of a second counts.
